Review of Westworld (1973) by Olli H — 02 Mar 2013
As a clear inspiration for the movies "Terminator" & "Jurassic Park", "Westworld" was ahead of it's time with it's story of a futuristic theme park where you can experience the wild west, medieval europe or ancient greece and interact with super-realistic robots. It's all fun and games until the system goes haywire and the robots become lethal...
While it only consist of two acts (which was weird), the story has a few surprises in it's sleeve but still it ends with mediocre tones with the same twist coming on about three times in a row and Richard Benjamin's characters unusual stupidity and some bad acting. Michael Crichton used the same core story later on with "Jurassic Park" (without the robots, duh) and it was much better version of the "theme park goes to hell" plot.
