Review of Westworld (1973) by Troy F — 20 Jul 2015
Westworld may not seem as stellar now, but it certainly was high concept for 1973, and the thrills and tension certainly hold up with the picture itself. Westworld is one of three vacation spots in a central resort that acts as a realistic simulation of the Western experience for people to live out and enjoy, from gunslinging to bar fighting, but when the computers go out of control, chaos ensues and it becomes a matter of survival as one man tries to outrun a robotic gunslinger.
It's a very well made movie technically, and really toys with the idea of something that feels so real becoming real in the most horrific fashion. Terrific film.
