Truly a masterpiece. The cinematography and choreography shine bright. The screenplay by Tony Kushner adds motivation and richness to the characters and the story. Everyone is superb. Ansel Elgort’s Tony is the weaker of the leads, but it’s simply due to a lack of joy or effervescence in some parts.
His Brando-esque performance could be due to direction, but when he needs to be lighter, he isn’t.
