Review of West Side Story (2021) by Benjanzen — 17 Dec 2021

West Side Story is brilliant. A fantastic translation by Steven Speilberg that honours the original film, yet adds so much more life and magic using modern filmmaking techniques. It is honestly astonishing on a technical level, from the use of lighting and colours to the sweeping camera movements and masterful direction.

While it takes a little bit to really get going, and I have some issues with the core of this story, I really enjoyed myself with this one.
