Review of West Side Story (1961) by Andrew S — 05 Mar 2010
I think there are some great scenes in the film but as a whole movie it just wasn't captivating or interesting enough to hold my attention. Even the musical numbers weren't as catchy and fun as most musicals.
But it had some good numbers scattered throughout the film. I really can't believe that Natalie Wood singing scenes were all dubbed. If someone hadn't told me that I would have never known that's for sure.
I think Rita Moreno was the real star she of the picture. She had screen presence and the best numbers of all.
