Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Laird J — 04 Jan 2009
Quiet and thoughtful look at some harsh American economic realities via the story of one woman attempting to traverse the US for freedom, work and independence. So subtly performed and delivered, I feel like if I blinked I would have missed the whole movie, which minus credits is only a scant 75 minutes long.
Michelle Williams performance manages to show a great range of emotions without ever "over-doing" it. Very natural performance in a very "realist" movie.
