Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Kirk K — 10 Sep 2009
Gus Van Sant would be proud of this moving cinematic experience, that is a harsh, depressing character study of Michelle William's subtle but brilliantly enacted Wendy, who is down out on her luck and along with her beloved dog Lucy is headed towards Alaska.
A devastating mishap happens to Wendy, and Lucy subsequently goes missing, leading Wendy on a mission to recover the only companion she has in her life. Wendy and Lucy is absolutely heartbreaking, an incredibly powerful drama about the connections humans make, the friendships we forge, and the sacrifices we must sometimes make.
