Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Tony — 20 May 2009
Reichardt's fable is a deeply effective examination of the human condition. Being especially pertinent with the financial crisis in the states, Wendy and Lucy is an unquenching look at persistance through hopelessness and the necessity of sacrifice.
Michelle Williams' performance is brutally despondent, full of substance, a composed disposition simmering with strife. It's possibly the most heart wrenching film I've ever seen, but absolutely enriching.
