Review of Welcome to the Jungle (2007) by Corey H — 17 Nov 2007
This is mediocre at best. The premise is interesting but the execution is sloppy and uninteresting. Basically 4 20-somethings head out into New Guinea to make a documentary about their search for Michael Rockefeller and run into a cannibal tribe.
It's shot like Blair Witch Project with all the action being shot by the 4 characters, and the plot is similar to Cannibal Holocaust. This film has nothing in common with the cannibal films it's attempting to pay homage to.
It is boring and slow and it's hard to care about the characters. The gore is nearly non-existent. It's a change of pace from most horror coming out today, but that doesn't save it.
