Review of Welcome to Me (2015) by Melissa A — 12 Jul 2015
It's a movie that attempts to portray a mental disorder seemingly written by people who heard about what it's like from someone who knows someone's uncle that had it. The only thing that differentiates Wiig in this from a run-of-the-mill selfish person is her monotone delivery.
She plays a straight man in a movie full of them, effectively cancelling each other's comedy out. The show she creates, on the other hand, seems infinitely watchable. I wish they'd spent less time on "Look at her disorder!" and more on the ample creativity it seems to have gifted her with.
