Review of Welcome to Me (2015) by Spencer K — 19 Feb 2016
I'm blown away by Kristen Wiig. There, I said it. I guess because of her SNL fame Kristen Wiig is still fairly unrecognized as one of the greatest in this generations crop of actors but she really can do it all.
Aside from probably the best comedic timing in the business, she can play "tragic", "torchured" and "flawed" like no other. There's a genuinely believable and unique, inherent exposed nerve like vulnerability to her that's very special.
And yes, she's sexy too. Who would have thought there was just so much behind the woman that brought "Gilly" & "Dooneese" to life? This little film was quirky and interesting.
.. but it would be nothing without Wiig elevating it to it's highest possible potential. If you like to be intrigued, watch anything Miss Wiig is in, she more often than not takes intriguing and thought provoking roles.
