Review of Welcome to Marwen (2018) by Lincoln K — 21 Dec 2018

This is an interesting film, loosely based on a true story. Steve Carell does a fairly good job of playing Mark Hogancamp, a damaged man who can't relate particularly well to the outside world so he channels himself into his art projects.

The renderings of his fantasy world are good, for a low budget film, and some of what happens is interesting.. however the film itself is not as good as it should have been.. the plot is a bit off and the supporting players don't particularly stand out.

. with Leslie Mann's character being more annoying than anything else. A bit of a misfire, but a creative one.
