Unlike any war epic, Welcome to Dongmakgol makes a fun take on the subject of War. It's light and there's a lot of comedy into it. Despite this atmosphere, the movie tackles the gravity of war into people's lives and make it into a point on its tragic ending.

Any kind of audience can watch this film and understand more the Korean war in a pacifist's perspective.
