True to life conversations can do a lot for a movie, and they helped make "Weekend" a good flick. For the most part, I didn't care for what was going on between the two gay lovers on screen, but the conversations they have during the film's climax saves the film. The clash of personalities, yet deep affection between them, create an interesting drama within these moments that most movies fail to deliver to their top limit. "Weekend" does this, and it's all the better for it.

Some may be bugged by the cinematography, but I enjoyed it. Handheld, rack focuses, ect, they're all there and help make the aesthetic match its realist story. You feel like these characters aren't just caricatures, but are in fact actual people. Granted, they're horny, drug crazed characters, but the dialogue and camera work make it work.
