Review of We Were Soldiers (2002) by Ryan N — 06 Aug 2009
Has some very powerful war scenes, and Gibson's character is infinitely like-able; he's as American as the flag itself. Unfortunately, the third or fourth time I heard "Lay me down in the coal cauldron" humming and buzzing away while slow motion unfolded, I was rolling my eyes.
This is a decent war film if you want to visit Vietnam, but there are better ones out there.
