Review of We Own the Night (2007) by Kenneth L — 09 Sep 2009
A stock cop drama through and through, from the pacing of events to the Russian mobsters and their brutality. That being said, I still enjoyed most of it.
The first hour was engaging. The third act was a blow-out. Motivations become murky for certain characters, moments of convenience plague the plot. The closing scene held little emotional draw because of its manipulation. In fact, the film seems to just drop out all of a sudden, like another 3 or 4 scenes accidentally found the cutting room floor.
