Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Beteley R — 13 Jul 2012
Searingly intense and downright horrific in its disturbing aftermath, this tale of a mother trying to retain her humanity and sanity will make a DEEP impression on you. I nearly stopped watching it several times during its first 20 minutes, as that part is virtually without dialogue, and nightmarish, and seemingly without logic, but once the story unravels it all makes perfect sense.
A quite unique and powerful film experience, with great acting by the principals, Tilda, John and Ezra. The film seems heavily influenced by Stanley Kubrick. The ending is very subtle and very brilliant.
