A deeply disappointing adaptation of one of my most beloved novels, despite Swinton's wonderful performance and Lynne Raymsey's delicious style. The films fractured style and excisions of some of the most crucial elements prevent it from being as devastating as its source material.
. Simply not the powerful masterpiece it could have been. Still worth a watch, but I suggest you read the book.
