Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Rodney W — 15 May 2013
We Need to Talk About Kevin is intense. Leading viewers through a tragedy by way of its buildup and aftermath, it gives the audience all the frustration of someone who knows what 's going to happen but is powerless to do anything to stop it.
The statements it makes about domestic terrorism and noticing red flags when we see them makes this film required viewing. A jarring glimpse into a reality increasingly common in our society. We, this society that continues to churn up shooting after shooting, we need to talk about this, aboutKevin and every other yet-to-explode school shooter out there.
We need to talk indeed.
