Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Cecily B — 23 Oct 2013
We Need to Talk About Kevin is a powerful psychological portrait of a woman dealing with a horrific tragedy and its aftermath. It reminds me of Roman Polanski's Repulsion in the masterful way it communicates the central character's mental state primarily through images with little reliance on dialogue.
The movie's quick cuts demand that the viewer pay attention.
