Holy cheese, this is a depressing, difficult to watch film. I've seen few that left me feeling so uneasy. Tilda's character spends the movie being mopey and distressed , but after watching the film it makes sense.
Still, it was almost a chore to deal with the fragmented narrative and slow pace which often skipped around the timeline without much fanfare. As other reviewers have stated, it's almost mean-spirited towards the characters and the viewers.
One late scene involving sprinklers in the yard will haunt me forever! Finally, the film begins near the end of the story and it's really annoying waiting to see "what happened" while the film is only interested in being slight and subtle, the "sprinkler scene" not withstanding.
