Review of We Don't Live Here Anymore (2004) by Loretta K — 25 Aug 2007

When I first saw this movie I hated it. The sex scenes grossed me out to no end and made me never want to have sex again. I think the characters and the story line hit a little too close to home at the time.

Or maybe it was because the sex scenes were graphic and very real and my young teen-aged daughter was sitting right next to me. Then I couldn't stop thinking about it so I realized it must be a pretty amazing movie to stick with me all this time.

I'm still thinking about it and I love Laura Dern who stars in it. A great character sketch and a very real portrait of marriage when it's all falling apart.
