Review of We Don't Live Here Anymore (2004) by Jim T — 12 Jan 2011
I think this movie shows how marriages go wrong in the rawest way. I like that its a film that doesn't have the cliche'd third act that ends in violence. Instead this film is about the compromises that are made when these infidelity occurs in a family.
In a time where everyone wants to always talk about the sanctity of marriage and all that other stuff, I think this is a great film that shows that marriage is a rough as hell. I think Laura Dern's line, "even adultery has its morality" sums up the whole film.
Great dialogue and writing. Definitely not for those who believe in storybook endings and cliche'd perfect stories.
