Review of We Are the Strange (2007) by Heber C — 02 Feb 2008
After months of anticipation, I must say that this movie completely fulfilled my expectations... I love it, yet I sympathize with those who hate it.
The movies not perfect by any means. Personally, I would have preferred a lot less flashing. However, it's an innovative movie in every sense.
It's far more about technique than substance, and therefore, will likely appeal more to artists than anybody. I expect we'll be seeing a lot more mixed-media animations from the many artists this film has inspired.
EDIT: I've decided to bump this movie up a star, because all other animated films are looking more and more alike.
