Review of We Are Still Here (2015) by Scribehard — 05 Jun 2015
It didn’t take long for We Are Still Here to transport me back to the horror films I watched on Saturday afternoons in the ’70s. The aesthetics laid out by Geoghegan’s love of establishing shots of secluded locales, combined with Karim Hussein‘s soft, almost dream-like cinematography, is a real throwback to a long-gone era of horror that is ripe for some sustained homage.
(I dare say what It Follows does for invoking the vibe of the early ’80s, this does for that ’70s feel.) The comparisons don’t stop there.
