Review of Waterworld (1995) by Brian L — 12 Apr 2009

Waterworld is generally considered a disaster, perhaps unfairly so as it is a very well put together film. Unfortunately it ultimately fails to provide any sort of real spark that would allow it to reach a level other than the simple fantasy fare that it is.

Costner is relatively understated in the film, preferring to allow Dennis Hopper to chew the scenery up instead. All in all it really isn't as bad as most say, but there is definitely something lacking there.

Jeanne Tripplehorn is nice to look at as always.
