Review of Water Lilies (2007) by Francisca M — 19 Dec 2012
A kind of affectless and flat story of Gallic teenage angst, 'Water Lilies' follows the lives of three teenaged girls who feud, fume, and puzzle over boys. Very minimal as to story, the parties, swimming competitions, and scenes of homelife provide the typical coming-of-age story settings for what is mostly a contemplative dissection of adolescent psychology.
It's very understated but quite good.
