This is my favorite "superhero movie" of all time. I didn't watch it for a year or two after release, because of low critic scores (and mature content, I was like 15 at the time).I'm glad I eventually gave it a chance though.
Its very dark and adult, definitely not for everyone, but in my mind its as true to the comic as an adaption of this work for the big screen could be. Some notable changes were made, one in particular was controversial with comic book fans, but I view these as necessary for the comic to work in a modern movie.
The acting is great, the dialogue well-written, the score is perfection. I can't recommend it highly enough.
