Watchmen starts out as a 10/10 from the original graphic novel. This gets: -1 for unnecessary gore -1 for unnecessary sex -2 for laughable insertion of the soundtrack (I know they were the songs in the end-of-chapter quotes, but the incorporation was absurdly awkward) +1 for making the entire thing really pretty.
A highly faithful adaptation that sometimes stylizes the original TOO much, but is overall a compelling film.
