Review of Watchmen (2001) by Alex G — 21 May 2016

As an adaptation, its okay. Its not horrible but its definitely not amazing. As a movie, it depends. If you read the graphic novel you'll definitely be watching every minute. But if you didn't, you might feel bored with constant flashback scenes for the characters(and a little confused due to important details from the book that we're left out).

Compared to the Graphic Novel? The Graphic Novel is definitely much better than the film and I strongly suggest reading that before watching it. Watchmen definitely has great action scenes, a great dark tone and mostly good leads but I felt that the actress who played Laurie was a bad actor at times(her mother Sally feels a bit campy).

Fans of the book will be disappointed with changes made while nonreaders might feel that movie is going a little slow. But if fans can except the changes and nonreaders will be okay with the flashbacks, its an okay movie.
