A good example why indie movies are so important for the fantastic genre. Showing 4 Kids turning to zombies wouldn't be original at all. If you show it out of their perspective (when thy think they're perfectly normal) is an innovating twist.
If these kids think that everyone around them is infected and they are super soldiers, several good laughs are guaranteed!
