Review of Wasabi (2001) by Iain B — 30 Jun 2008
Strangely entertaining and very fast paced detective comedy with Jean Reno. Just loved his character always punching someone in the face rather than do proper police work. I think what makes this quite enjoyable is the light hearted manner in which the story plays out and the quick, breezy pace it takes.
An american film would take around two hours to do this, Besson and co do it in about 85 minutes. Worth watching if you like Reno in Leon, this is similar, just Leon-lite in Japan. Complete with golf swinging.
