Review of Warrior (2011) by Dysonlu — 17 Feb 2013
This movie is highly rated because people have low expectations for this kind of movie. The acting is good and some of the characters were interesting. Two things that we don't usually get from this genre.
However, the outcome was totally predictable AND immensely non-plausible. During the whole movie, I was hoping: "Please don't end like I think it's gonna end. Please." But sure enough, it ended exactly as predicted. I actually hated the ending and it spoiled an otherwise good movie: The guy who fought for .500 during his UFC career actually winning the tournament by beating three world's best fighters AND beating the guy that beats up world's class fighters in less than 10 seconds. Yeah, in sports, fluke can happen, miracle can occur. But four miracles in two nights? PLEEEASE. Incidentally, that guy who won the tournament was the less interesting main character of the movie. The cliché underdog family guy who has trouble getting ends meet. Lame.
