Review of Warrior (2011) by Aginagala — 09 Nov 2017
A fantastic movie with a brilliant cast at perhaps peak performance, and a unique twist on a potentially cliche story. For a movie that was set based around MMA and violence it surprises you with a compelling story of two brothers struggles and triumphs surrounding a major tournament.
Each with their own story and reasoning you don't know which character to support, and love more. I felt genuinely moved the first time I saw this and after watching simply just listened to the ending credits music.
Moreover, a long and arduous training scheme was set out for both Edgerton and Hardy as they prepared to shoot realistic scenes for the film, which turned out brilliantly, and accompanied by raw and ultimately very human performances, made the action and acting scenes believable, relate-able, and moving.
A masterpiece of character design and intuitive dialogue this film is a must watch for any movie fans of any sort.
