Review of Warm Bodies (2013) by Cory D — 30 Mar 2014
I don't get the hate for this movie, but I don't get the love either. The two leads are really awesome and have great chemistry, but... It's just so lame in a lot of ways too. The larger metaphor that it's trying to play out (acceptance and cooperation coming from a desire for understanding) is best displayed in its smaller moments between the two.
The larger plot of the skeletons and humans and zombies and whatever? Blech. There's a lot of fun to be had watching this, but only if you know what you're getting yourself into, and don't expect anything more than a novel approach to a romantic comedy.
Oh, and good lord was Rob Cordry terrible in this movie. Why him?!
