Review of Warm Bodies (2013) by Jonathan E — 28 Dec 2013
First off, let me say I am a big fan of Isaac Marion's novel of which this film is based upon. I knew going into the cinema that the film wouldn't be any better than the book, just from watching the trailer you can see the differences between the film and the book. However, this is one of the best book to movie adaptations I've seen.
Nicholas Hoult is especially good as R, I can easily see him become one of Hollywood's biggest actors, and Teresa Palmer also gives a great performance. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent soundtrack, there's a lot of good tracks on there, from classic rock to more modern songs, like M83s Midnight City. All of these songs fit perfectly with the theme of the film, and you can tell there was definitely a lot of though put into picking these songs.
Overall, this is a very good film.
