Review of Warlock (1959) by Martin D — 02 Apr 2010
Evil warlock (Julian Sands) escapes death at the stake when Lucifer transports him to present times. A witch hunter (Richard E. Grant) is hot on his trail as he tries to stop the evil warlock from getting his hands into three parts of a bible that can end the world. He teams up with a gutsy gal named Kassandra (Lori.
Singer) whose house the warlock has landed in and they work together to nab and eliminate him. They must stop the Warlock, as the book contains the true name of God, which he can use to un-create the world. A chilling performance from Julian Sands; he was convincingly malevolent. The movie doesn't really contain any scares or shocks and the horror seemed kept to a minimum except for the part where he acts like he's kissing Kassandra's father but ends up ripping out his tongue and spitting it out on the skillet. .....maybe that is why I liked it. If you're going to chance this, then watch it just to see Julian Sands; he is as ruthless as he is handsome in this movie.
