Review of War, Inc. (2008) by Barbara C — 04 Dec 2009
A typical uneven, offbeat John Cusack movie, in which Marisa Tomei nearly steals the show. Also, Hilary Duff breaks from her Disney roots with a role that she, surprisingly, pulls off fairly well despite the slew of four-letter words her character spouts whenever she opens her mouth. Since the film is a satire, it is hard to enjoy even the music as its been written to compliment the themes of the film.
To give a friend an idea of what the film was like the best examples I could give him were Grosse Pointe Blank" meets "Better Off Dead" with a hint of "High Fidelity" thrown in for good measure.
