Review of War, Inc. (2008) by Stephen M — 07 Dec 2008
I can see why Cusack would want to do this movie but, unfortunately for the viewer, the finished product did not manage to get over its own overblown, in your face, over the top satire and settle into something truly worthwhile.
I mean, the elements were there. Both John gave a good performance as did Kingsley and Duff, the idea was interesting and socially relevant, of course the production values were great, but in beating the viewer over the head with the same message again and again both in near frame and the background, the overall effect manages to make the theme so obvious as to be boring and, therefore, lost.
The acting, special effects and overall production values could not save a movie that could have been a great satire had it been considerably more subtle.
