Review of War, Inc. (2008) by Steffen N — 31 Jan 2009
Not as bad as most reviewers made it sound, but the problem is that at about the halfway point, the movie ceases to be a Mark Leyner movie and becomes a John Cusack movie-- a shift that's not too subtle.
Frankly, when Cusack is playing the "Mark Leyner character" (a smug psychopath who says horrible things and calls people "babe") he's compelling and charismatic and terrible all at once; when he's playing the GROSSE POINT BLANK character again, he's not as entertaining.
