Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Talon D — 28 Jul 2017

What WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES lacks in story power it more than makes up for in all around excellent filmmaking. It's well directed, superbly performed, and has great characters. All of this helps to mask it's rather large plot holes and plodding pace. They do a great job of making the apes really sympathetic, which is good since they're entirely the focus of the film. It also continues this franchise's excellent job at setting up the world of the original PLANET OF THE APES. This is a franchise that has gotten consistently better with each installment and this movie certainly continues tradition.

WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES gets a "Buy it on Blu-Ray" on Talon's Movie Scale.
