Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Tristan B — 18 Jul 2017

Breathtaking...thrilling...masterpiece these are just a few words that describe this film. War for the Planet of the Apes is the best end to a trilogy ever with its astonishing visuals, captivating performances and its powerful story.

Andy Serkis why he is one of the best Mo-cap actors ever with his best performance as Caesar. The arc Caesar has in all three films is amazing to see and it comes to an amazing ending. Woody Harrelson is good as The Colonel in this film while not having a lot of focus on him excluding one scene.

This film is focused almost solely on the apes which it should be. The apes are fascinating characters and you just can't take your eyes off of them when they're on the screen. There's a storyline with a little girl which I thought was very sweet and gave some heartfelt moments in the midst of this very grim and serious film.

This film took a risk and had a comic relief character in the form of Bad Ape who is played by Steve Zahn. He's awesome in this role and gives a few heartfelt and serious moments in the midst of his jokes which were hilarious.

This is a flawless film and I couldn't find any scene or line of dialogue that deterred the film's plot. Matt Reeves should be very proud of his work as he has delivered one of the best trilogies ever and of my favorite films of all time with this entry.
