Review of War Dogs (2016) by Anthony I — 21 Aug 2016
"War Dogs" is a film about two twenty-somethings (Jonah Hill, Miles Teller), who get into the international arms dealing business to get their slice of the American Dream. After landing a couple of big deals, they bid on a contract for something called the Afghan deal, which would put them on the map.
Things go south really fast, and they learn the international arms business isn't all it's cracked up to be. Bradley Cooper brokers the deal and he is a shady confidant to say the least. I thought this film had beaucomp entertainment value.
Hill plays his character well and the script is very witty. The movie transitions from one exciting scene to the next, and the viewer has a sense that s$$t is going to get real really fast. It goes to show that wealth is overrated and something that seems attractive on the surface may not be everything it's cracked up to be ------------------------------------------------------------ B+.
