Review of War and Peace (1956) by Derrick D — 17 Aug 2008

Keeping in mind that this is a three and a half hour movie and based on a novel that's almost 800 pages long, I was actually surprised how much I liked it. Audrey Hepburn is brilliant as usual and though I wasn't really buying Henry Fonda in this movie, he eventually pulled me in.

Granted, this movie cuts out a lot of detail from the book and boils it down to the bare essentials. Still, a pretty seamless movie.
