Review of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) by Em K — 10 May 2011
First off let's just get it out of the was that LaBeouf is fucking terrible in this just like he is in every films he's made. That said, this one isn't too bad. The investment banking plot is a total mystery to me and didn't grab my attention like the stock investing plot of the first one.
This is really a character picture, and it was the interesting performances of Michael Douglas, Josh Brolin and Frank Langella that made this interesting. Not even the dumb, arrogant, stone wall talentless non-emotive LeBeouf could sink the others performances.
Maybe it's because Shia is so terrible and annoying in film that everyone else looked great? Anyways, not a terrible movie that's better as a catch up on loved characters rather then a gripping stand alone film in it's own right.
