Review of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) by Matthew C — 01 Jan 2018
Oliver Stone tries to recapture the magic of his original 'Wall Street', but comes up short. Michael Douglas returns as Gordon Gekko, but Stone not knowing what he wanted to say in this film didn't help.
Neither did the miscasting of the slight Shia Labeouf as Gekko's most recent protégé. Too much melodrama involving Gekko's teary-eyed daughter (Carey Mulligan) and not enough hardcore financial scenes with Douglas causes this rehash to miss the mark.
