Review of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) by Tibor B — 06 Jul 2011
Quite frankly a dull and boring "sequel" to Stone's 1987 Wall street, which at least entertained with Douglas' Gekko character spouting outrageous satirical catchphrases in it's decadent 80s setting.
Stone attempts an update with Gekko released from jail into a very different economic climate. The focus of the film unfortunately is Labeouf's young banker character and his fiancee who happens to be Gekko's estranged daughter.
There are all kinds of subplots going on here, but not a single one interested or engaged me and quite frankly it is further proof that Stone has lost his bite this decade.
