Review of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) by Clint D — 21 Jul 2011
Stone continues somewhat of a cold streak but "Money Never Sleeps" isn't all bad. The film's look at the modern world of finance is spot-on and bringing back the daddy issues that were the heart of the original "Wall Street" is a stroke of genius.
Gekko's time inside has softened him a little but he'll still crush you if you give him the chance. LaBeouf isn't a clone of Sheen's Bud Fox here which keeps the story fresh and Carey Mulligan will hopefully become the next big actress in Hollywood.
Stone also hooks the audience up with some great fan service in a quick cameo from Sheen which sets up an awkward interaction between he and Douglas.
