Review of Wall Street (1987) by Paul P — 17 Dec 2011
It's entertaining and the handful of 'Glengarry Glen Ross' type exchanges between people are fun. Loved the cast, although I wasn't a huge fan of Sheen as the lead. Not hating, he's a good actor, just miscast here.
Some people think Michael Douglas is too far over the top, but for this material it works. This is a flawed film and time hasn't been friendly to it. And of course you get the occasional beating over the head with Oliver Stone's agenda, the names of the two main characters are Bud Fox and Gordon Gekko.
..oh Oliver you sly goose!! I would've liked less Daryl Hannah and more Hal Holbrook and James Spader. With all the problems I still had alot of fun.
