Review of Walking Tall (2004) by Deb S — 20 Feb 2010
The Rock delivers some pulse pounding, cranium cracking and wood wielding tribute to Sheriff Buford Pusser. Walking Tall is an intriguing story, one that should appeal to both male and female audiences.
The plot of the movie is simple. The Rock returns to his hometown after 8 years in the army and finds his parents out of work, his father's mill has been closed up, and the town is now run by casino crooks, a dishonest police force, and drug dealers.
At the root of the town's problems lies Vaughn's former childhood friend, Jay Hamilton Jr. (Neal McDonough) who owns the new casino. The Rock decides that enough is enough and simply takes control himself, kicks ass and conquers evil in only 87 minutes.
Johnny Knoxville is excellent as his best friend/deputy.This movie was definitely entertaining and I recommend it to anyone who likes action movies.
